A Barcelona institution, Cafe Zurich has traditionally served as the local meeting point for over 80 years. Like any establishment that’s proven itself for this long, you can expect that the place pretty much runs itself (certainly speaks for itself), and you can expect to take care of yourself once inside. The unconcerned, dogged waitstaff leaves you to your own devices, which—once you’ve secured your food and drink—is fine as far as we’re concerned.

The grand open terrace in the heart of the city—Plaça de Catalunya—is a prime place to partake in the old pastime of people watching, with a constant flow of attractive foot traffic passing by. Or relax among friends and entertain some good conversation in a locale that’s been known for fostering it.
