You need to either have been tipped off by someone or have bumped into it whilst being lost in the narrow streets of Born to find Lilipep, even though it’s only a stone’s throw away from the busy Carrer de Princessa.

A german-catalan couple opened this cute little café in April 2008. For lunch they offer Catalan and German specialties, mainly vegetarian and everything homemade, of course, but the star of this venue is without doubt their breakfasts.

With good breakfast spots being so notoriously hard to find in Barcelona, Lilipep’s gift to the city is its ‘desayuno alemán’ with brown bread, cheese, ham and most importantly, a hard boiled egg or ‘huevo feliz’. Your hearty morning munchies come accompanied with your choice from a range of fresh teas—including the ‘One thousand and one night’ and ‘Bengal fire’—or a viscously heavy chocolate caliente.

Lilipep’s cosy sofas invite you to rest and grab one of the books on the shelves. You might miss that they’re also for sale along with the selection of self-made jewelry and the fashion collection for Barbies, an old hobby of the owner.Quote_transparent
