In 1993, Jordi Robio, then a young paint sales representative, encountered two talented graffiti artists who inspired the notion that a paint producer should manufacture solely for writers. Thus began Montana, which to this day manufactures and sells materials to Barcelona’s dedicated graffiti community, as well as a thirsty international clientele.

The paint factory has since been expanded to offer a combined shop and exhibition space, which opened in 2004. The shop sells Montana spray paints alongside a range of other necessary products, while the gallery showcases some of the best street art to be found indoors. No wonder Montana has become a focal point for local and visiting writers, and is the first place to head for those wishing to get involved.
