Placa del Rei is located in downtown Barcelona, close to the Catedral. A wealth of historic buildings surrounds it: the Palau Reial Major (which was the royal residence), the Palau del Lloctinent (Lieutenant’s Palace), Torre Mirador del Rei Martí (King Martin’s Watchtower), Capilla Reial de Santa Àgueda (Royal Chapel of St. Agatha) and the Palau Clariana-Padellàs, which also serves as the entrance to the Museu d’Història de la Ciutat.
The quiet Placa’s oasis-like ambience makes it a favourite of Catalans and tourists alike.
