It’s fitting that you feel like royalty during your stay at the Neri, for the site of this luxurious hotel was once a palace, constructed in the 18th Century. The hotel’s proprietors have gone to great lengths to instill avant-garde aesthetics while still maintaining a direct connection to the building’s past. The 22 rooms, restaurant and common area have all been faithfully refurbished so that guests enjoy modern day amenities and simultaneously feel transported into another era of elegance and class.
The hotel is centrally located, and is integral to Barcelona’s Gothic quarter. The atrium terrace provides a stunning view over the cathedral and rooftops that define this part of the city’s landscape. A thematic approach of indulging all five senses is at the heart of the hotel and restaurant’s design. Color choices are intended to reflect Renaissance painting, while techno-ethnic rythms playing in the background pay homage to the various cultures implicit in Barcelona’s history as well as to current trends quickening the city’s pulse.
The Neri Restaurant offers sensational tastes derived from humble roots. Drawing on medieval regional dishes, the kitchen combines Mediterranean influences to create three different authentic and wholly original tasting menus consisting of six to nine dishes, costing between 50 to 90 Euros per person. Following suit with the hotel’s devotion to its past, the Restaurant proudly displays two 12th Century arches which integrate interestingly into the remodeled 35 seat dining room.
