Marmalade spent 50 years as a furniture store, and the passion for design has certainly not dimmed. The interior is striking, with some fantastic features like hanging lights adorned by feathers, bold floral patterns coloring the walls, and a huge chrome bar in the back room.
The layout is large enough to keep revealing such delights, but the food and bar service are equally notable. The menu is a seasonal mix of Spanish, Argentinian and international cuisine. The Duck Carpaccio is a particular highlight among customers. There is also an impressive cocktail list, including a Raspberry Russian (Raspberry Vodka, Kahlua, Crème de Cassis and Nata), which, for the sweet-toothed, is as seductive as it sounds. The staff are English speaking and faultlessly attentive, even at the busiest of times.
